Silences

Silences

I never spoke to you
of my silences.

The hidden pain,
the disorder, the chaos,
the loneliness.

I never even
whispered of such things.

The haunting silent screams.

Once heard, some things
can never be silenced.

I never spoke to you
of my silences.

I never wanted to keep you
from your journey.
Your path lined with
yellow, orange and brilliant red.

I will never forget
the crunching and crackling
of the colors under your feet
as we walked.

You strolled lightly,
so as not to destroy
the delicate beauty.

I never spoke to you
of my silences.

I walk in the
quiet and dark wood...
remembering
fallen leaves.
