A short poem for the Whispers of the Soul Contest.
What if I could retrace my steps
Back to my painful, dreadful past?
I have made it accursed and hellish
Due to my own sheer folly and
Unavoidable vices that placed
My life, at the footsteps of doom.

I wish I could sit on a ride
That would give me a second chance
To live my life at the fullest
And realize complete frolic.
I could live without regret and
Enjoy those pristine, awesome moments.

Alas! I have no other way
To live but to weep penitent
Tears that pour in huge quantities,
Continuous and Incessant.
Tears will dry but my agony
Is ravaging, tormenting me.
