A poem about heartbreak
Have you ever had your heart
Tragically break?
Not by the one you want to love
But by the one you want to hate.
Falling over yourself
Saying you don't care,
Then finding more and more
That your heart is full of despair.
Knowing it's hard to breath
But it creeps to your mind,
Mother dear, Mother dear
I thought you were kind.
Now my heart's in my throat
And it's hard to keep it alive
Bit by bit I'm breaking
With only a weak drive.
Mother love, Mother love
I didn't think you would break me
A heart broken by its mother,
Who would guess that to be?
You had two choices
But the one you chose was not I
I'm the fool who still loves you
And it's sometimes hard not to cry.
Mother oh, Mother oh
Why can't you love me more?
Why is it so easy for you
To watch me walk out that door?
