Mistakes and Wrong Turns

The wrong turns in life-
I've taken many.
And there are just as many
situations where,
if given the chance,
I would act differently.

School and life,
they intertwine,
but I knew what I wanted
at 18, and I still know now.

Psychology is not my field of study-
at least not anymore,
but even then I knew,
it was not meant to be.

Psychology and I....
we just don't do well.
It's nothing against them
nor nothing against me,
but something's just not
clicking between us.

I knew it then,
and I know it now,
and I regret
not standing up for myself then.

But now I have to live
with the consequences
of my actions and
make the most of my mistakes.
