abuse of a pet dog
Animal Cruelty

Cruelly chained up
to a massive oak tree,
half-grown shepherd pups
keep struggling to be free.

Chased around this trunk
by kids mean as can be;
why do teenage punks
abuse so cruelly.

Now, these full-grown dogs
sleep outside in the rain
in thunder and fog
trembling in fear, insane.
