New Year's Day in Christmas Town

The full wolf moon smiles down
on the snowed in ginger bread town
that is Santa's North Pole hideout.

Inside the Jolly Old Elf sets alone
sorting through selfies on his smartphone,
wondering which to throw out.

Outside moonbeams sparkle and dance,
like January snowflakes across winter' expanse,
while green clad elves dance all about.

Mrs. Claus, wearing a new red nightdress,
sets in the bedroom playing solitaire chess,
contemplating a marriage bailout.
