Another mountain visited
Humphrey Peak waits
Under Arizona’s blue skies;
Mixed with mountains and molehills,
Ponderous natural structures and valleys.
Humphrey Peak waits,
Red in the evening sun’s glow.
Every man has a mountain they said,
Yours may be in Arizona’s
San Francisco Peaks.

Peering around from Humphreys Peak
East to west I can see beauty everywhere.
Alpine forests to Grand Canyon
Keep me away from city streets
And the busy boredom of Flagstaff’s
Zoos of humanity.
Humphrey Peak waits.
