A tribute to my mother.

The fragrance of your hair
lingers in a faded shawl,
your bible is open wide
on the table down the hall.

In quiet wonder they pass by
to see you resting there,
in dress of blue cotton
and silver in your hair.

You are my inspiration
the reason why I sing,
the tears and the laughter
you are my everything.

You are resting Mother
and soon I'll see you there,
now I will let you go
for you are in God's care.
