My first attempt at poetry
The owls hoot in distress,
The stars shine.
Your senses are jumbled in a mess,
Oh, sun, won't you become mine?

The trees look oh so gray and dreary,
Apple, cedar, and pine.
The windows are oh so fogged an smeary,
Oh, sun, won't you become mine?

The streetlamps switched on,
In their straight line.
Angry wisps of moths spawn,
Oh sun, won't you become mine?

Is darkness only visible
In the sky?
Could it be inside you,
Powerful but shy?

Darkness can be in your head,
Causing damage left and right.
Happiness will be bled,
And you will lose your sight.

Spreading across every cell,
Twist, crawl, grow,
Sticking onto every organelle,
In existence that you know.

Hope is a fire,
In the darkness of people's minds.
It has traits that you admire,
Extinguishing the doubt it finds.

To deal with darkness,
Sunlight isn’t the key.
Just stop faking your tartness,
And let me be me!
