Prompt #1 - Poem celebrating 24 hours in linear time (a whole day).
24 Lines
Twenty-four hours in linear time,
It gets you ready to pick up your dime.
Please put it in the slot of your favorite machine,
And pull down the lever, and watch it go around:
It's the same old routine; it makes a noise;
It's a wonderful sound.
Listen now, for we must part, and plan
For the day, it would be smart.
It's the season to be excited;
It's the reason to be united;
The flames of love are now ignited.
Now is the time to make up your mind;
Whether to be warm, gentle or kind.
It's a time for celebration;
It's time to welcome a new generation.
There are new ideas they have to share,
What we can learn, shows that we care.
They learn from us, we learn from them.
It's such a thrill what they instill;
The goodness they've embraced,
It prevents us from being disgraced.
Say our prayers every day, and open
Our hearts to what they say, then we'll
Be blessed in every way. Amen!
