The hardships of manhood
I knew a man his life was hard,
he stood his ground, he never cried,
.
He grew older, he grew wiser,
the weight of the world grew lighter,
and for the very first time I saw him cry,
.
So much pain flowed from his eyes,
and I realized he held those tears for years,
because in his world men couldn't feel,
.
I am thankful to witness such expression,
because it taught me a valuable lesson,
.
Men are strong, men are brave, men have hearts,
they are not stone, and if they cry it is okay,
it doesn't change anything,
.
The world is harder for the man who must lead,
but he is still of flesh and bone like me,
and he has no authority over pain....
.
I knew a man his life was hard,
and for the very first time I saw him cry,
he stood his ground when life came,
and the man I knew is still a man...
