A narrative poem of the struggle of a dark immortal and his innocent victim.
Choose I not a life less ordinary?
I chose one that wasn’t life at all.
Death comes as a precious adversary
never, save the light and then the bell tolls.
Flowing through your veins my unyielding lust,
the life-blood sweet to me; you taste rust.

Unmarred beauty and an age-old knowing
that forever is yours, you may live it so.
I wait for you, nothing for showing,
Find me, turn me, make me one of your own.

I choose you carefully, no others suffice
watched you walk, willing me wayward, I yearn.
My eyes follow you, all others a vice,
rich innocent blood; with need my will burns.
By night we meet, and dance; you fall, you trust
feeling the touch, and taste, then succumb, you must.

Finally you have found me, I know now
we are one for this night, and for all time.
Yet there is a miss, have I not yet bowed?
I see in you, forever is not mine.

Savouring the taste of life once again
my cold heart remembers feeling the bliss.
Warmth of a soul I almost know again
of love, hope, and tears for lovers missed.
But too quickly it is ended with death of your trust
and warmth is replaced by burning blood-lust.
