A poewm about losing hope and then finding it again.
God is on vacation,
The seraphims are on sick leave.
Heaven's gone amuck,
And Earth has gone awry.

God's tanning on the beach,
The angels are watching reruns.
Human beings are darting around,
Being stupid, mundane, and loud.

Where's God when you need him most?
Or maybe He's waiting for me to ask.
It's what He wanted all along,
And maybe He knows something I don't.

God's on vacation, but he isn't very far.
The angels are crying over reruns of my life.
And as they watch, they listen,
And they hear each word I say and think.

There's a bigger picture here,
Whether I refuse to admit it or not.
There is a perfect pattern on Earth,
A pattern so perfect that mortals can only think:
God is on vacation.
