This poem is about me and what I'm going through.
Quietly she sits alone contemplating her next move.
Where will she run next, where will she hide?
Will she ever be free, will she ever escape?
Will her past ever stop haunting her?
She runs in fear as tears stream down her face.
Child in tow with all she can carry.
With no clue where she will stop,
she just runs, hoping one day she can be free.
"We never asked for any of this, just leave us alone!" she cries.
Every night she fears for their lives.
The freedom that once tasted so sweet, now seems so far away.
