How the statue of liberty may see things
Where's The Peace?

They say I have no feelings for mankind,
And my heart is made of stone,
But yet I wonder,
Who should actually be called cold?

A gunshot deafens the ear,
On what was a peaceful night,
Revealing the smell of death,
And without remorse, reported at nine.

Amongst the people who surround me,
There is a man without a home,
But yet I see you walk around him,
To let him beg and cry alone.

I hear a child's cry for hunger,
Across the shimmering sea,
Yet I wonder how the rich can be so selfish,
When the hungry cry with grief.

My heart feels heavy,
As I watch them all below.
There are the ones who pray for help,
While the ones who can, won't.

But I'll keep my tears inside,
While I remain standing proud and tall,
Because I am the Statue of Liberty,
At your beck and call.
