About a moment in life that you wish you could relive
As I lay in the dark on my bed waiting for sleep to come and take me on the journey for the night, I think back to when I was a child.
The days when things were much simpler, and happiness wasn’t chased but a thing that came naturally. The end of the school year when the excitement for the long lazy days of summer and the yearly family vacation to Wildwood NJ brought the excited butterflies to my belly.
Remembering the simple things that brought happiness to my life even though like all other kids I wished to be older never wanting to be a “kid”. If only I knew then what I know now I wouldn’t have wished my childhood away, but instead would have enjoyed the simplistic happy life of being young.
If only there would have been a way to hang onto or bottle the happiness and innocence from my childhood, so that in times like this
I could bring back that feeling.
But instead I sit here with tears streaming down my face longing to feel the same pleasure I did then. Realizing that life doesn’t stand still or slow down. You have to try to live in the moment and live it to the fullest so that you don’t find yourself looking back and longing to be where you once were.
