The agents from Mortem Enterprises are trapped in battle against the beastly Revoirâme.
Vilary: ( closing her eyes, she steadied her breathing and calmed her mind, pretending that no one else was around her. There were no other agents. There were no Revoirâme. It was only her. Then, she started to sing a sorrowful melody. Her voice was amplified by a voice box mounted on her collar, making it so powerful that rifts formed between realms, inviting twisted demons to feast on her enemies )

Hayen: ( he jumps back as one of the demons flies at him, barely avoiding collision ) Hey! Watch it, imps! ( shaking his head, he focused on the Revoirâme, quickly approaching Vilary. Concentrated on her singing, this made it difficult to defend herself from attackers, so Hayen watched her back, raising his crossbow and accurately firing arrows that punctured the skulls of the misshapen beings )

Leovik: Ah! ( he shouted as one of the clawed creatures struck his chest, effortlessly slicing through his plated chest guard and cutting the skin below )

Sareth: Leovik! ( she called out in concern, whirling about and raising her glowing quarterstaff to the sky and raining down healing energy onto her hurt comrade )

Leovik: ( he grunts as he blocks another flurry of attacks with his obsidian blade, pushing back the beast as relief falls over him and the deep gashes start to heal under Sareth’s light ) Thank you!

The battle started growing in intensity; for every Revoirâme beast they dropped to the ground, it seemed like two would replace it. In this never-ending struggle, they felt their faith and resolve waver slightly as exhaustion started to take its place.

Erilyn: ( her golden circlet glinting with power, she used her mind-mastery to create astral projected decoys of herself and her fellow agents but was straining to keep the images present ) We can’t keep this up forever! We need to fall back and regroup!

Illiam: ( casting with his book of lore, he rained precise lightning strikes down at the monsters, electrifying them into temporary stillness ) Erilyn’s right. We have to retreat and come up with a new strategy.

Bensom: ( with a unique ability to phase through intangible objects, he arose from the ground behind his targets and released a frenzy of dagger slashes, retreating underground when the Revoirâme turned to attack him )

Jeniika: ( utilizing rocket-powered boots, she practically danced on the battleground, using her powerful kicks to take out Revoirâme after Revoirâme. As she heard Erilyn call to regroup, she glanced around, finding a serious issue ) One problem with that. They’ve got us surrounded!

The circle of Revoirâme tightened around the weary agents, gnashing fangs and flailing claws poised to strike. Looking at their grave position, Leovik thought quickly, slamming his obsidian sword into the ground. A powerful shielded forcefield erupted from the blade, covering the agents and allowing them a chance to breathe.

Leovik: That won’t last long, but it gives us a minute. ( he told them, catching his breath )

The shield didn’t stand up long against the beasts, with long cracks forming in the field. Just as the shield was about to break, a legion of hunters suddenly appeared from the forest, shouting war cries in unison as they took on the Revoirâme headfirst. Their multi-colored armors glistened in the dim light, expertly swinging their curved blades and severing several limbs and heads in a whirl of steel. Within minutes, the remaining Revoirâme were defeated, their snarls and shrieks fading as those who survived ran deeper into the thicket. The agents lowered their weapons hesitantly, watching the unexpected saviors follow after them. The battle was over for them, and while they didn’t know who turned the odds in their favor, they were grateful.
