the Last Summer Rose Climate Change Becomes Real

the Last Summer Rose

39 lines

In the summer of 2030.
Climate change
Became nightmarish real.

After suffering through
Ten years of super bad weather events
With storms of a thousand years
Happening, it seemed every year.

With the fire season
In the West Coast, never-ending,
With rain and snow falling,
Megadrought spreading desertification.

And the rest of the world burning up
Or suffering from monster storms
Hurricanes and tornados everywhere.
Glaciers melting all over the world.

Governments and businesses
Paralyzed unable to do anything
As right and left-wing populists
Fought for power blaming each other.

Preachers preaching the end times are here.
Misinformation and lies everywhere.
The public could not cope.

Then the latest environmental scare
Spread around the world.

It happened almost overnight
A super blight appeared
Spread by the humble bee
The blight targeted flowers
Especially the Rose family.

Climate change hit home
With the last summer rose
Becoming extinct in the wild.
.
That is when many people woke up
And said to themselves, we are so.....
