Thinking on Homonyms

Cells

Contemplating homonyms--how
words and their meanings have changed
over millennia and generations.

For example the word 'cell.'

Initially, minute bit of life
which when combined with others
becomes something more.

Also a jail space meant to confine
a body (of cells) when incarcerated.

Lastly, the term for a cellular phone.

Thinking about juxtapositions--
how the people (those bodies of cells)
spend their time,
whether walking or sitting
staring at their cells
trapped
within their screens.
