On topics and today's gnus. Definitely opinionated. Set to 18+ for a reason.

Hybristophilia: attraction towards criminals.
Did Jeffrey Dahmer's victims go up to him and say, "eat me"?

Did his good looks lull his victims into trusting him? Would we have been so enamored to believe him regardless?

Are good-looking people (tall men, hunks, petite women, big-bosoms) given the benefit of the doubt? Can an ugly man or woman be a cheerleader or homecoming anything?

In the Gnus:

"TikTok Users Are Protesting Convicted Killer's Innocence Because 'He's Too Cute'"

I guess running over people at 102 mph (like Cameron Herrin did) defines 'cute' in some people's view.

But there is a deeper question. Do we immediately give certain people a pass because they are good looking. And does this feed bigotry, racism, classism... I mean... why are blond-haired-blue-eyed quarterbacks considered the 'boy-next-door' but black men standing at the corner waiting for the bus referred to as 'thugs'.

Attitudes towards fat, tattooed, bald-headed, oddly-dressed members of another 'tribe' ... notwithstanding them being 'the nicest person you'll ever meet' ... can be very negative. How is this fair?

Well, it's not.

That said, it's very human to make presumptions based on looks.

We even do it in our fiction writing .... shh ... the romance genre especially seeming to be complicit in reinforcing stereotypes.

None of the young actors in the Thai TV series I watch could be considered 'ugly'.

Jeffrey Dahmer had the good looks. He apparently also had a good appetite.
