I added to almost all my stories today, including starting a new short story.

My head is all over the place; I haven't heard how the surgery went and I am worried, though considering my friend's counsel has not contacted me, I assume the operation went well enough (I am to be contacted if she passes, apparently, according to an email I got from said counsel the morning of the op). However, that does not stop the concern.

So... the short story. I have an idea for an interconnected series of 12 or so short stories, and it's going to be awkward considering the shared base, but we'll see how I go. Anyway, I started the first one. I also added some more to the Abraham Lincoln adjacent story (not about Lincoln, but... well, I think I explained it earlier), and also also scrawled six hand-written pages onto my horror tale. The comedy story has fallen by the wayside because I just can't find much humour at the moment.

I am trying to find some, but not enough for a novella.

Still, it shows me how much writing is so dependent upon our mood. I thought I was immune to it after all this time, but recent events have shown me that, no, I am surprisingly human after all.

Oh, I also realised that the main female character of my horror story looked and acted a lot like the woman I really like who has rejected me and is still there... so I went back and made enough changes to only keep one defining physical and few defining personality traits in my written character. Stupid head of mine doing this to me!

Despite this, a good, if scatter-brained writing day.

I have no idea where I'd be without writing.
