Day 8 of "The Soundtrack of Your Life"  challenge.  Our next song up is... Attention by Charlie Puth This one feels a little bit lighter in tone than my previous two picks. It seems more upbeat and playful. There is a little bit of a playful flirtatious energy to it as the singer (Charlie Puth) laments not being able to get over his ex (who is playing games with him). When you watching the music video you can't blame him. You can feel the temptation and frustration throughout the song. Charlie has great vocal control able to shift to falsetto heights as he is singing. You can probably tell from earlier entries that I really love staccato like beats and this song has a great punchy rhythm to it that shifts into higher octaves. The melody and lyrics makes me feel like I am watching a tango when listening to it. It is fast and tense with a lot of sexual tension. It is very hot!! -    |
