Queen Alice W/C = 291 I haven't had this much fun in a long time. I needed this activity to convince myself I hadn't lost my writing ability. For a long time, I couldn't get past my idea. I could develop good ones, but it never seemed to progress beyond that. I made myself believe that if I could find the right "How To" formula, I would be able to write a fantastic story that is publishable right off my printer. Right? Wrong! I see now that I can write about anything and develop an idea while writing, and anything can be written. Even a character whose name starts with an H and is surrounded by ten items that start with an H. Oh yeah, he has to use those items ten times in five hundred words or less.  Another thing I learned about myself is that I actually can learn to write poetry. Right now, it is far from great, but with some learning and practice, I could do it. I used to avoid it like the plague. I loved being pushed to meet the prompts. Kiya and Lornda were very supportive yet adamant about what was wanted. I also learned that with a good attitude, anything is possible. I've had trouble sticking with Nano because of my self-confidence, but I have regained it through this activity. Also, I did something that I have never done in all the time I have been a member: pick members at random, visit their notebooks, and introduce myself. This was fun and productive for me.
