Amity smiled. "Hello Kitty. You are pretty. Where is your home?" The cat purred and rolled around as Amity petted her. The cat got up and ran off. The cat wasn't skinny but it needed to put on some weight. Amity watched the cat and stopped to pick a pink flower. The cat come back. She looked at the Princess and ran off again and turned around and looked at her. Amity thought she should follow the cat. Amity followed the cat through the woods who kept turning around looking at her to be sure the Princess was following her. Finally, they were out of the woods and the cat went into a cave. Amity heard meowing noises. Kittens! Amity saw kittens lying on grass in the cave and they were tortoise shell like the mother. Amity knew she couldn't just leave them. How would she get them back to the castle? "Amity! Where are you?" It was her Prince she had just married. "Leopold. I am glad you are here. This cat wanted me to follow her. She had kittens. I want take them home but I have no way to take them back to the castle." Leopold looked at the kittens. There were four of them. Leopold picked up the one kitten. He cuddled it. "I will go back to the castle and get a basket. You stay here with babies and their mother." Amity played with the kittens and the mother cat rubbed Amity's legs. "I think I will call you Lady Shelly. We are going to adopt you and your babies." Leopold came back with the basket and they put the kittens in the basket and took them back to the castle. Amity put them in her room and she had a big flower box with sand for the cat and kittens. She fed Shelly some meat scraps from the kitchen. "Where do you suppose they came from?" "I don't know. I will send a message out to the villagers and we will see what happens. I love them. I want to keep them." Leopold hugged Amity. "I know you do. Let's see if they have a home first." A messenger went out to the village to ask about the mother and her kittens. A week later, an elderly woman came to the castle.
