Thankful Remembrances

Prompt: What are you thankful for?

At my age it is easy to be thankful for all kinds of things. I'm especially thankful for having a home to live in. I'm thankful for libraries that let me read for free. I'm thankful that some of my children still come around when they can.

Having pets around even though people told me at 60 I was too old to keep pets is important to me. The dogs are my walking companions. The parrots are well cared for just because they live with me. They sing when I play the guitar. The cats treat me like one of their kittens. Purring to keep me healthy. I read that cat purring helps cats build strong bones. I hope it is helping my bones too. I'm always happy to gain knowledge that will help my aging body get up and move one more day.

I'm thankful I can still play my guitar and am still learning things about playing classical guitar I did not learn at an earlier age. Still finding new music to enjoy. Some of the New Age music I really like.

See, I could go on for a long time. Don't forget WDC. It gives me somewhere to visit to talk to friends and read other writings about other lives. And find the prompts that give me ideas to write about.

I'm also thankful for the small times I can help others in small ways. Once in a while I remember the yesterdays.

Bye for now. Merit Badge in BCoF 2
