Just things that I think about now and then.

TUYC - On moms and religion -
It's the day after Mother's Day. My youngest daughter woke me up to wish me a Happy Mother's Day. We chatted a bit, and then I called and woke my mom up to wish her a Happy Mother's Day. Again, a nice chat. I was still feeling a bit groggy, when I had to go do laundry with my oldest child, and then get a few groceries.

I'm thankful that I still have my mom. She had an aortic valve replacement in January, and she's 81 years young. She seems to be doing pretty good. She lives in Michigan, and I in Texas, so I'm at least happy to be able to call her.

As far as religion and politics, I feel they aren't mutually exclusive, but then again, religion shouldn't be the defining factor. I'm sure that is as clear as mud.

I don't mind people expressing their religious beliefs, but I don't think that it should be weaponized against those who don't share the same thoughts or beliefs. Christians shouldn't be in the business of "beating down" anyone. Our job is to love them, and plant seeds. God is responsible for the outcome, or the "harvest". By the same token, others of different faiths, or no faith for that matter, shouldn't be allowed to dictate to Christians on how they believe as well.

It is a shame that people can be intolerant of others, when it is our job to get along and figure out things. The "it's them or us" mentality hasn't worked, and it won't ever work.

Just my opinion.

Prayer prompt: Either pray for your mom or a mom that you know. (My mother is with the Lord so I will pray for my best friend's niece who has 2 small children.)

Blog prompt: Do you think religion and politics go hand in hand or should they remain separate?
