Congratulations on your virtual blogging adventure! Hi.

Asia-Pacific families have a different type of lifestyle. North Americans seem to have left this kind of family arrangement behind. Except I think some time ago maybe about 10 years ago some parts of the country had trouble with younger generation who did not get an education and could not find jobs that paid enough to start homes and families. Also, commitment to solid marriage became less of a reality. More children moved back home with parents as a monetary need to get help raising children or making end meet with income.

Personally, I like it when there are more family members around. Most of the grandchildren I have are well insulated by their parents. As young children I baby sitted a lot, but then when school age hit children became involved in school activities that required them to spend more time in their own homes.

Now/ I baby sit my children's dogs' when they go on vacation with or without their offspring. Which I like to do. My children's dogs are kind creatures and are used to popping in to see Grandma now and then for a week or a weekend. The grandchildren I know about, are grown and have their own homes or do not live near enough to me to spend time here.

I think the Asia-Pacific lifestyle has some positive aspects as elderly people can give advice from experience gained from life.

I remember as a child and into my early 20's spending time with my grandmother and an aunt and uncle which gave me some special knowledge to use in my life as an adult.
