MY LIFE IS A SHATTERED GLASS: a terzanelle
MY LIFE IS A SHATTERED GLASS: a terzanelle
[Persevere along the path, despite the stones hurled.]
My life is a shattered glass.
But I won’t accept defeat.
I don’t live in the hour past.
Troubles plenty I do meet,
As on my path I proceed,
But I won’t accept defeat.
It is not easy, indeed,
To forget stones hurled at me,
As on my path I proceed.
They envy my victory.
I forgive them, I do try
To forget stones hurled at me.
My heart is hurt, I do cry.
But, though it is difficult,
I forgive them, I do try.
It is a feeling occult:
‘My life is a shattered glass!’
But, though it is difficult,
I don’t live in the hour past.
