Online journal capturing the moment and the memory of moments. A meadow meditation. |
Only 894 views of my blog. I want 1,000! And ya know my friends could email me (hint) or leave a comment. 2005-12-29 noon, 36 degrees. 37 in Missoula, MT. 43 in Monroe, WA. Not too cold anywhere, I guess. Here it's been foggy. If it is going to be grey, bring on the fog! Don't like driving in it, especially at night, but it's magical to walk or bike through. Brendan called last night! Good timing. Told him again about Chatham College in Pittsburgh. He still wants to move to Concord, NH. Went to Henry's this morning for a change of pace. Haven't been hanging there as much as I used to. Ended up writing 6 sketches (#644-649), including three pleiades (based on the sounds 'lai', 'prai' and 'noo'. Vincent was writing too. I liked his use of repetition, homonyms and alliteration. Wish there were a 'school' of poets here. Next place I go, I'll have to start a circle if one doesn't already exist. The problem here is that the writers have their own closed circles and no one has invited me in. And my stuff isn't all THAT aweful! After reading the 2005 anthology of poetry, I can attest to that! Some works I liked: Jessica Goodheart, 'Advice for a stegasaurus' Jane Hirshfield, 'Burlap sack' Brigit Pegen Kelley, 'The wolf' and: Edward Field, 'In praise of my prostrate' Marilyn Hacker, 'For Kateb Yaune' Vicki Huspith, 'Ants' Mary Karr, 'A blessing from my sixteen year's son' Rachel Loden, 'In the graveyard of the fallen monuments' Linda Pastan, 'Death is intended' Adrienne Rich, 'Dislocations' #5 is good. Jason Scheiderman, 'moscow' Gary Snyder, 'Waiting for a ride' Dorothea Tanning, 'End of the day on second' COMIC COMMENTS - schmendrick, in reference to Dicken's style of writing. [Zits] - chunkydunk, a plugger's type of skinnydip. [Pluggers] SENSED f g fo f fo fog og f g o o g |
