THE CRICKET OF LIFE: a sonnet
THE CRICKET OF LIFE: a sonnet
The life is simply like a cricket game,
Where players come and play their own inning.
They try to gather runs and make a name,
Batting or fielding, constantly running.
They hit the ball and manage a few runs,
They think that they have built up a treasure.
They beat aloud their own victory drums,
Forgetting it is a fleeting pleasure.
In his hurry man forgets that the next
Ball may be destined to be but the last.
As he raises the bat to show his best,
The ball reaches the stumps and makes a blast.
A few only do make a century.
Just, play your inning well and don’t hurry.
