As time passes the young become the old
And one day, from the drama, we are gone.
Before all mysteries of life unfold,
The door of death we are cruelly shown.

To hell or heaven which way we shall go,
To none of us this can ever be known.
As icy winds in winter of life blow,
The door of death we are cruelly shown.

If we don’t know our fate then why lament?
We came alone and we shall go alone.
No one will save in the final moment.
The door of death we are cruelly shown.

As time passes the young become the old.
The door of death we are cruelly shown.

' The Kyrielle Sonnet is a 14 line poem in iambic pentameter, the difference from the usual sonnet being that the last line of the first stanza is used as a refrain, being, repeated at the end of each subsequent stanza and the final couplet. The first line of the final couplet is the same as the opening line of the sonnet. The pattern used here can be depicted as:

1st stanza - AbaB
2nd stanza - cbcB
3rd stanza - dbdB
4th stanza - AB
