MY FIFTH BIRTHDAY PARTY: an acrostic
MY FIFTH BIRTHDAY PARTY: an acrostic

My birthday party is my own
Yearly happy event.
Blessed are all those who can dance
In a happy moment.

Reality need not banish
That which we can yet dream.
However why should at all those
Dreams impossible seem?

After birthday parties thirteen,
Years eighteen I would be.
Papa would be that much older,
And, from my burden, free.

Running, I would go to him and
Tell him in happy tone:
‘Years of childhood are gone’.

* An acrostic written for the Every Week Something New Contest, item 708935, "Invalid ItemOpen in new Window., where one had to write a poem around a given prompt: “My Birthday Party”. Each line of the above poem starts with a letter of the title.

* Written in abcb 8-6-8-6 format
