A book to house all my Poetic Explorations |
A Maid on the Canvas I came across that gallery Myriad paintings were on display. My curious eyes came to survey Those masterpieces done perfectly. Plastered graffiti on the wall Some were big, others were small. There's a picture of a man in disdain And various abstracts that were hard to explain. Then I found my stare on that canvass Painted there was a lovely lass. Bearing a smile so captivating Her figure was indeed enticing. Her eyes glowed like jadeite's glare Nestled beneath her golden hair. Casted her tantalizing look That pulled me like a hook. This lovely lady, I must steal Those busy Night Shifts, I thought won't kill. I rushed ouside while alarms were buzzing Then police cars came, tyres were squealing. I ran as fast as I could Passed the lake and then the woods. To where afar my feet could take Yet I was tired and needed break. I cried, "What wrong have I made? I need this painting of my lovely maid! She loves me, it's not a lie You take her and I will die." 28 lines |
