Perpetual Motion
It’s the night before...
My life might change tomorrow,
Or not.

A job interview
A company from my past
An old job role.

But a new location
Different people
Same corporate structure?

Ten years is a long time
I don’t know if I remember
How to do the job
Or even if I have the
Energy for an eight-hour day

But time is running out
It’s now or permanent retirement
Which I fear will lead to
Perpetual sentient activity-
Nothing.

I’ll face the fear
Jump on the carousel
Hope for the best
Grab the brass ring
of Life.

Go ‘round a few times
Up and down…
Before I retire to face

Evolution eternal.
