Protagonist Wandita - "The Caves of Moomdor"

                       Protagonist Wandita
                      “The Caves of Moomdor”

Wandita’s spaceship flows about two hundred feet above the
surface of Moomdor. On her viewport in her control room she can
see are large hills scattered all over that part of the planet.
Those hills are called Cave Mountains and by each one of those
Mountain there is a small settlement where the cave workers and
their families live.

“I know that there are about twenty thousand of the Cave
Mountains scattered all over Moomdor, but I didn’t think that
they were so close to each other. Where am I supposed to land my
spaceship? It doesn’t look like there is any place to do it.
Unless I land it on one of those mountains.”

“That may not be a bad idea. I can land on the mountain
that has a problem that I’m here to solve.”

After thinking about it for a few minutes, Wandita changes
her mind. “No, I can’t do that. My spaceship might do more
damages to those individuals in the caves. Besides, I don’t want
them to know I’m here until it’s too late for them.”

Wandita continues her flight down the main road that looks
like a square tunnel with the top half of it missing. Every so
often there’s a brake in that road to a side tunnel that leads
to the settlements and the caves. She looks at each one as she
flies by it. First, through the main viewport. Then at the side
monitor on whichever side the brake is on.

Suddenly, Wandita’s spaceship stops. Wandita gets up and
goes to within a few inches of her viewport. “I can’t see
anything for several miles except for the roads, the caves, and
the settlements. I’m not going to be able to land my spaceship
anywhere here.”

Looking up at her ceiling as she walks back to her command
chair Wandita smiles. “I’m going to have to use my transport
to solve this problem. My spaceship has more firepower to do it
faster, but my transport has more than enough firepower to do it
too. It’s just going to take longer to do and I can’t promise
none of the individuals in the caves won’t be hurt or killed
because of it.”

Wandita’s spaceship floats up toward the clouds that cover
Moomdor. It stops just before it reaches them. a bluish green
mist forms around her spaceship. Now it blends in with the rest
of the clouds there. “That should protect me from them knowing
that I’m here until it’s too late.”

After Wandita puts her spaceship into Hover Mode she heads
down to the bottom level of it to where she keeps a couple of
MiniShuttles. Wandita goes to the one nearest her. She gets in
it by placing her palm against it. The side of it next to the
red hand print suddenly disappears to reveal an entrance shape
hole. Wandita enters that MiniShuttle. She goes directly to the
control room. After checking it out she turns it on.

The MiniShuttle shakes is it rises a few feet above the
level floor. Under it the floor disappears to show the cloud
mist below it. Wandita’s MiniShuttle begins to float down to
Moomdor’s surface. As it goes down it changes shape and size to
fit the transports there.

Once it’s down the new MiniShuttle transport starts to
hover a few inches above the ground down that road tunnel.
Wandita sits in front of a large control panel. She keeps one
eye on the main viewport in front of her, and one eye on the
side monitors. It depends on which monitor she is looking at as
to which eye is on the main viewport.

Wandita hovers down that road tunnel for a couple of miles
before she came to a stop just before another side road. She
looks at the strange unknown symbols on the top corner edge of
it. After mumbling something unrecognizable she turns and hovers
down that side road. Just before she gets to the end of it she
stops again. Wandita first looks at the settlement in front of
her. Then at another side road.

Pushing a button on the control panel a continuous beeping
sound. A flashing orange green light starts engulfing that part
of the MiniShuttle transport. Wandita taps another button to
turn off both the beeping and the flashing. “I’d like to talk to
Enaina, please.”

“You said please. That doesn’t sound like you, Wandita.”

“It’s me, Deimi. Now please get me Enaina.”

Deimi, who appears on Wandita’s viewport, is silent for a
moment. “I’ll get her, but I still don’t believe it’s you.”

The image of Deimi disappears. A few seconds later the
image of Enaina appears. “You are actually contacting me before
you try to solve a problem.”

“You insisted that I do it. Something about not wanting me
to get anyone killed who is innocent.”

“Everyone knows how you solve problems. You don’t care who
gets killed as long as the problem is solved.”

Wandita shook her head sadly. “I don’t kill innocent
people. At least I don’t do it intentionally. Sometimes I do
kill them though. It’s part of the job of a Problem Solver.”

“No, it’s not. I knew it was a mistake to ask you to solve
this problem, but you are the only one in this area who can do
it. Should have known you wouldn’t try to talk to them in a
solution to their problem. It’s not the way you solve them.”

“This is exactly the kind of problem that I should solve.
They have taken over that cave for its minerals, and they are
holding about fifty innocent Moomdors from Polvorn. All of them
are female and young ones.”

Wandita waits for Enaina to respond. When she doesn’t she
continues. “I don’t plan on killing anyone who doesn’t deserve
to die.”

“I don’t think that I’m going to be endangering another who
should be killed. They know that I’m coming. I’m sure they will
be waiting for me.”

“Any idea how many of them you are going to have to kill?”
Enaina asks.

Wandita thinks about that for about a minute. “I’m not
sure, but I’m thinking there are going to be about two hundred
of them. Most of them will be using the cave openings to help in
their attack, but some will probably be trying to surround me.
I’ll take them out first. Then I’ll take out those who are at
the cave openings.”

Before Enaina can say anything for or against what Wandita
is planning to do, Wandita hits another button to remove her
from the viewport. After tapping several more buttons her
MiniShuttle transport turns on to that secondary side road and
hovers toward the caves of Polvorn.

Just before Wandita gets to those caves she stops again to
get her surroundings. It takes her several minutes of careful
scanning first with her eyes than with the MiniShuttle transport
scanners. Wandita has identified twenty-five Cave Workers. All
of them have weapons. Some have hand weapons. They are the ones
closest to Wandita. The rest of them are using big things that
are in the open area between the road entrance and the cave
openings. They are going to be harder for her to kill, but
Wandita can do it. If anyone can, it’s her.

Wandita gets up and goes to the center of her MiniShuttle
transport and pushes a button. Wandita jumps back as the center
of that floor disappears. She almost falls into it. After she
looks at the ground below Wandita jumps down. Using the hover
MiniShuttle Transport Wandita takes out the Cave Workers closest
to her with a single shot to their heads with a hand weapon.

After Wandita takes out the Cave Workers closest to her she
jumps back into her MiniShuttle transport and starts it to move
forward slowly. Wandita grabs a small metal looking box with
blue buttons on the sides of it and a red button on top. Then
she returns to the ground and uses the MiniShuttle transport to
head for the cave openings. As she gets closer to those openings
Wantita starts taking out the Cave Workers not protecting the
openings. Also, with a single shot to their heads. Only she is
using the long weapon to do it.

Once she is sure all the Cave Workers outside the openings
are dead, Wandita maneuvers the MiniShuttle Transport to
continue toward the openings. There are five of them. Her
MiniShuttle transport is headed for the center one. Using the
blue buttons on her box she moves the MiniShuttle in any
direction she wants to it to go. Wandita uses the red button on
top to shot laser balls out of her MiniShuttle transport. She’s
using both of her long weapons to kill them too.

One after another Wandita killed all the Cave Workers at
the Cave Openings. She has done it so fast she is sure that none
of them have gone to get the Polvorns. The few she overheard
trying to order others to do it, she took out before they can do
anything about it. Soon they refuse to do it and the orders
stop. They concentrate on trying to kill Wandita. Which they
don’t do. One by one they are all killed. The whole thing only
takes about five minutes to complete. Wandita is sure that none
of the Polvorns there have been hurt by what has just happened.
