"June 8, 2019Open in new Window. An image for a blog that I hope will take root.Me in my Salvation Army uniform:image:1997652-33%}Blog City image small

An image for a blog that I hope will take root. "And not only that, but rejoice in our afflictions, because we know addiction produces endurance, endurance produces character, and character produces hope." Romans 5: 3-4
Do you rejoice in affliction?

I don't know anybody who enjoys suffering. However I can say that I thank God for everything I ever endured as it made me into the person I am today. I can see how suffering hardships gave me insights that the average person lacks. I truly am grateful for hardship as it takes a heap of manure to make me grow.

Image for BCOF members to put in their blogs "DAY 2393: June 8, 2019
Prompt: June 8 is World Oceans Day. The five oceans are Atlantic, Pacific, Indian, Antarctic, and Arctic. Have you ever been to one of the oceans? If so, tell us about your adventure. If not pick the ocean you would like to visit and write something about it."

In all honesty the closest I have ever come to the ocean was Chesapeake Bay. I thought it stank. I have tried to avoid eating sea food ever since my visit there. After all, all of our rivers eventually dump into the oceans and I wouldn't eat out of most of our rivers if I were starving. I mean there are more pollutants in the rivers than you can name. All of that ends up in our oceans and ultimately our bodies. Is it any wonder we get cancers and other diseases? No, I have no visited the oceans and don't think I will. I did see Lake Erie, which is basically an inland sea. It was a lot of water.

Blog City image small Prompt: "Creative Saturday begs a creation from you. Use these words: satirical, lingering, neutral, audacious, conversational and distracted. Have fun!"

I find that most television reruns are satirical in nature. Star Trek for example uses plots that mirrored civil events in its day. They have a lingering effect on American history and television. Nobody can be neutral to these causes and issues. It would be audacious to think one could be. Anybody conversational talks about these things. One cannot be distracted from current events.
