The fear reaction
Each prompt gives me food for thought, I usually end up writing about what personally effects me.
This weekend has been tough for me and my husband. We have been very afraid for our daughter as once again she’s run the gauntlet of dangerous behaviour. We’ve been called upon to rescue and nurture her, trying to keep her safe.
This has brought to the fore fear, which in turn has led to us at times to look to lay the blame on others. Even in my case feeling hatred towards her at times for causing so much trouble.
I’ve discovered much about myself, I did feel prejudicial towards her “friends” as they took advantage of her weak will.
Fear has much to answer for, causing people to react in ways they never thought possible. It doesn’t need to be a fear for oneself, it can be a fear of the unknown and the future.
