The Hewbrew word used here for simple is פְּתִי and it is defined as simplicity or naivity. In this usage פְּתִי is a noun and Solomon is calling the hear naive. In the second usage we have the Hebrew adjective כְּסִיל which means stupid or foolish. Things can be simple without being foolish. A third-grade level jigsaw puzzle may be simple but it is not foolish. Stupid on the other hand is stupid. ![]()
