Over for My Scriptwriting

In fact, by the time I do my next blog entry, it will be the beginning of a new year. This year has been devoted to my scriptwriting projects. At least most of the year has been. I did stray once with a Short Story contest in August. But it was sort of a fake contest. Anyway, I did start a few more short stories. Only I never got them finished. Mostly, because of my scriptwriting projects.

I have most of my time with my Water Wars scriptwriting project. That’s because I have been doing it at work. Well, that isn’t exactly true. I did do it whenever I could. But there were a lot of times when I couldn’t do it because of the post that I was at. My post wasn’t the only reason I didn’t work on this project, though. it was just the main one. there were a few times that I didn’t feel like doing it, I had a lack of concentration, or I didn’t get a lot of sleep the night before.

Whatever the reason, I didn’t get as far along on my Water Wars scriptwriting project as I thought that I would. I thought that I would be in the scriptwriting phase of it by now. If I didn’t have at least the movie written for it. But because of several re-writes and a few things that I had to remember I only got to the Scene Outlines for this project. and I still have almost three of them left to do. That I do mostly blame on work. That’s because of what post I was working at and what went on at those posts.

As for my second scriptwriting project, The Problems with Death, there is no excuse for me not getting to at least the scriptwriting phase of it too. In fact, I should have gotten it done by now. True, I only had a couple of days a week to work on it. But there were lots of days off from work that I got very little writing done on this project. And a lot of days that I didn’t get any writing done on it. Most of that wasted time of writing is because of what my brother and I needed to get done those days. But that wasn’t my only reason for not getting more writing done than I did.

In 2021, I’m still going to be working on my Water Wars scriptwriting project at work. At least I will be whenever I can as long as I’m a Security Guard. But I’m going to be a lot more limited on my second scriptwriting project, The Problems with Death. That’s because I’m going to be going back to writing short stories, entering contests, and doing challenges. I tried to devote a whole year to scriptwriting. And overall I did pretty well with it. But it didn’t work out as well as I hoped that it would. So, I’m going back to being a normal writer like everyone else. Besides, I miss the contests and challenges.
