Assignment: Write a poem about something old in a new way, and share your enlightenment


God is our Savior

Standing alone at the foot 0f the cross on a hill
Nude Bloodstriped body cut deep with a whip
Onlookers see him, the crown of thorns upon His head

Women in anguish, crying out for their Lord
The Roman guard strikes Him with a sword
He cries out “Father forgive them, they know not what they do”

Three Days pass, He was buried in the tomb
The Son was gone from the earth that day
While all His believers bow heads and pray

In the garden on the third day, Mary saw Him and obeyed
She ran to the den where the followers reside
Jesus is not gone nor will He hide

The apostles ran to the place where they were told to go
And low and behold they all saw their Savior
He spoke to them telling them to go and teach.

I look back two thousand years
With God in my life, I have no fears
Thank you Jesus for all you have done.
