Proverbs 12:24

Proverbs 12:24 says "The hand of the diligent shall bear rule: but the slothful shall be under tribute."

What will the diligent rule? What is a tribute and why are the slothful under it?

I’m not keeping up with the blogging right now but, I’m still keeping on with reading the scriptures and looking into some in depth.

On the surface Proverbs 12 seems to be comparing different actions of people. The comparison is showing what people’s personalities are really like. It’s easy to realize that diligence gets things done. If you are slothful in everything you do you probably make work for diligent people. So, you are going to get the jobs that don’t take knowledge or real interest in the work to complete; washing dishes instead of cooking the food or sweeping the floors instead of planning the days work.

My bible uses the work taskwork instead of the word tribute.
