WDC's Wonderland Activity Writing |
Memories Left Behind As I start wandering into the forest. I notice that my head is starting to feel fuzzy. I can't seem to remember what I was doing before going into this forest. Scratch that... I can't remember anything from this morning or rather I can't remember anything from before last night. I start to realize my memories are disappearing rapidly. I know I have to act fast. Quickly grabbing a pen from my pocket. I write an instruction onto my palm before I completely forget what I'm doing. As the last of my memories fade I pick up a nearby stick to steady myself and start to walk... dragging it behind me. *** 10 Minutes later *** I come across an Old man wandering the forest. "Hello." I say to him. "Hi...?" He responds looking confused. "I'm ..." I scratch my head. "Strange I don't remember my own name." "I...Can't remember my name either." He looks at me sheepishly. "Where are you headed?" I notice his confusion. "Are you lost?" "Uh... yeah I think so" He says nodding. "How about you?" "I was... you know...I don't remember. I must be lost as well." We both look very confused. "Do you know how you got here?' He shakes his head. "No...you?" "No." I rub my forehead frustrated and notice writing on my palm. "Hey look at this. I must have left myself a note." "Really?" The old man looks fascinated. "What does it say?" I read the words. "Go where you've never been before." "Ok what does that mean?" I frown. "I don't know... I guess I should have been more descriptive to myself." The two of us think about it for a little bit. I kick the ground annoyed. "How am I supposed to know where I've never been before if I can't remember anything?" Suddenly the old man smiles. "I think we know where you came from." He points to the trail behind me that I left by dragging the stick. Realization dawns on me and I smile as well. "All right let's walk in the opposite direction." With an idea of which way to go... The two of us begin walking forward avoiding backtracking by walking away from the trail I left being. Eventually we are able to walk straight out of the forest and just like that... our memories return. - 398 words |
