Humpty Dumpty: A Meaningful Name
White pawn to 6th row/rank
What's in a Name?
I get asked from time to time where my WDC handle Kingssidecastle comes from. The name comes from a Chess maneuver where the King and Rook switch places. The move is used as a defensive strategy allowing players to move their king to safety while at the the same putting their rook in a position for a more offensive role in the game.
As hinted at slightly in some of the previous entries I like to play chess so I wound up selecting a chess related name as my handle.
My actual name Triton has a Greek origin. It means God of the Sea. In Greek Mythology Triton is the Son of the Greek God Poseidon and the Goddess Amphitrite. The name actually fits me pretty well because out of the 4 elements (Earth, Wind, Fire and Water) I feel like I associate with the fluidity of water the most.
