Longing for Yeast-erday


How many times I’ve lauded in song
those amber waves of grain,
not realizing that if I lived too long
I’d wave goodbye to fruited plains?
Goodbye gluten, goodbye wheat,
in order to digest pain-free,
I forswear bread and cake so sweet,
for now I live grain-free.
