Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed.

What does it mean to believe without seeing?

In a simplistic manner Thomas was suspicious of tricks being played. He might have been at the cross and seen Jesus die. Thomas required proof to solidify his belief.

Jesus knew the interesting science of time. He knew that after he ascended people who believed his word and his life would have to have faith and the Holy Spirit's strength of will and teaching to believe and maintain their belief. Even Bible study can test your resolve to continue.
