Norma's Wanderings around a small section of Montana |
PROMPT March 17th Pretend that you have found a four-leaf clover that will bring you extraordinary good luck for exactly one day. Write about your lucky day. A four leaf clover! Wow! And here’s another. This yard is full of them. Good thing I waited to mow. I stepped on three more. Wait, I looked closer. They are made of thin paper. I leaned down to look. A little face looked up at me. “What are you looking at?” The face stared at me. I was speechless. “I’m talking to you! What are you looking at!” A tiny elf jumped around. It went from blade of grass to pebble and back again. I knelt down. “I have to tell you, I’ve never seen an elf before so I have to get down to your level. Can I take your picture?” I took out my smartphone. “Put that evil thing down. Get out of my face. Leave me alone. Take a blasted clover and go.” The elf scampered up my pant leg, then up my shirt. I tried to dislodge the little bugger but it stuck like a burr. Soon I had an elf staring straight into my left eye. It spit in my eye. “There, you now have the luck of the Irish. Now leave.” It flew away with little wings. I wiped my eye with a sleeve, picked up my phone, then mowed my grass with the four leaf clovers. |
