Take UP Your Cross

Prompt:
Psalm 106:3
Blessed are they that keep judgment, and he that doeth righteousness at all times.

What does it mean to keep judgement? How can we be righteous all the time?

Answer:
We are righteous always through the blood of Jesus Christ and following God's will for our lives. We keep judgement by making good decisions and keeping God's commands.

Scripture writing - Acts 16:13-15

Scripture:
13 And on the sabbath we went out of the city by a river side, where prayer was wont to be made; and we sat down, and spake unto the women which resorted thither.
14 And a certain woman named Lydia, a seller of purple, of the city of Thyatira, which worshipped God, heard us: whose heart the Lord opened, that she attended unto the things which were spoken of Paul.
15 And when she was baptized, and her household, she besought us, saying, If ye have judged me to be faithful to the Lord, come into my house, and abide there. And she constrained us.

Observations:
Lydia sold purple for a living. The Lord opened her heart to hear Paul's message. She and her household were baptized which indicates Salvation. She was hospitable in offering Paul and his company a place to stay. Apparently they were having a prayer meeting with the women.

Application:
It is the Lord that opens someone’s heart to receive the message of Salvation.

Prayer:
Dear God,
Help us to be a witness to others. Open their hearts to receive the message you have given us. Help us to do it with the right attitude and not think more of ourselves than we should think.
In the holy name of Jesus,
Amen

Sunday’s Scripture writing - 2 kings 6:21-23

Scripture:
21 And the king of Israel said unto Elisha, when he saw them, My father, shall I smite them? shall I smite them?
22 And he answered, Thou shalt not smite them: wouldest thou smite those whom thou hast taken captive with thy sword and with thy bow? set bread and water before them, that they may eat and drink, and go to their master.
23 And he prepared great provision for them: and when they had eaten and drunk, he sent them away, and they went to their master. So the bands of Syria came no more into the land of Israel.

Observations:
The King of Israel showed hospitality to his captives.

Application:
As a result of hospitality shown, relations were improved with the other nation.

Prayer:
Dear God,
Help us to always show hospitality and peace to others. Help us to build healthy and safe relationships.
In Jesus’s name,
Amen

Prompt: What is art to you? Do you think there might be a universal set of rules underlying all aesthetics?

Art is creativity. It is making something yourself. I didn't know there were creativity rules.

Write about fishing today.

When I was young, every time my dad would take me fishing with him, I would either catch more or bigger fish than him. He said I was bad luck for him. 😂

Day 2061: April 5, 2021

Prompt theme: Renewal - “We must be willing to get rid of the life we’ve planned, so as to have the life that is waiting for us. The old skin has to be shed before the new one can come.” —Joseph Campbell

How does this quote relate to renewal.

It is hard to obtain the new when you are still hanging onto the old. It is like Salvation in Christianity. We must put off the sinful ways of the flesh and begin to live in the new ways of the Holy Spirit, living a righteous life in Christ.
