What pulls to such books with inconvenient marriages, cynical men with a sardonic lift of an eyebrow while she defies and a happy ending. 5-8-2021 Prompt: what I heard Imperfect What I heard was stunning. How did this come to be? Could people change after years of togetherness? Love is not love that fades midway in life. Endless mistakes repenting in leisure. 5-9-2021 Prompt: Listen up When the kid cried. "Listen up" said the ranger. "A man-eater is spotted prowling around the village and the fields. You got to listen to its stealthy steps." Even as he talked, it jumped from the bush snarling and snapping at the small crowd. The little kid left behind cried and cried loud. The streaked one, came, saw and left, confused. 5-10-2021 Prompt: Write a window poem Every dawn The wakeup call comes through the grilled window every dawn at exactly four. Bake till the crust is golden, the filling bubbly. With a scoop of butter, or ice cream even better? Timeless apple pie, the classic favorite A sure way to a special someone’s heart and soul. 5-14-2021 Prompt: Complex Manifold Too many things happening I hope not to lose control. Simultaneous but simple problems appear complex, keep my mind alert. Clean, cook, write, go, fetch, arrange. Answer the door, phone, and social media. Pay tax, bills laundry milk and mangoes The tree is full of fruit, time I called the picker. 5-15-2021 Prompt: Sang, Tang, Boomerang Practice Unless the notes are in place and without hours of practice the song will boomerang. Remove the tang from the vocal chords. It intrudes into the harmony. Sing for a musical feast, not a farce. Our teacher insisted on the basics. 5-16-2021 Prompt: Clang, sprang, fang Confined The vendor clangs the bell pushcart trundles down the road variety vegetables on wheels right before the doorstep. Neighbors spring up from indoors to buy food and gossip more a rare sight these days scared stiff of the wily virus’ bared fangs. 5-17-2021 Prompt: Metronome I can't stop I have a metronome, a small one. It changed my tempo and beat through and through. I never thought precision could be at the beat and rhythm of this little master. Step in to follow its dictates or else it leaves you behind. 5-18-2021 Prompt: Sway-Docile-Ease In my favor Belligerent I can't be, shouldn't be actually. Docility is fine to a point not beyond. What then am I at ease with? A cross between the two might sway the odds in my favor. 5-19-2021 Prompt: Write an eight line poem with eight words in each line. Wind in her hair, light in her eyes bike and girl merge like body and soul. Rows of shiny silver birches fronting the forest Long white ribbon-like road entices the traveler. Make your song of life, love and dreams Tears of yesterday bother no more, let go. Seize the chance of embracing today that smiles tender, sweet, inviting, taking care of our tomorrow. 5-20-2021 Prompt: Write about something very small. Simply small Sometimes small is super, fits well, fare forward in fun I smile thinking of my little gift igniting memories, not distant. The mini key chain with an e-game, made my leisure one of pleasure. Two little boys playing ball, great fun pressing buttons. 5-21-2021 Prompt: Let It Be Lessons If they ask us to stay indoors, if I shouldn't go visit near and dear let it be, let it be. If nature decides to teach a lesson let it be, let it be. 5-22-2021 Prompt: National Bike Month Of bikes and brakes I turned the corner sharp saw a car speeding up panicked and braked. Hubby running close Got me and the bike from somersaulting. I still go biking if only to air body 'n' mind. 5-23-2021 Prompt: My Ambrosia It took time to fall in love with Dr. Fuhrman's salad, bringing radical changes to my food habits and health. I glean the benefits and blessings of mother nature's bounty by using vegetables and fruits of varying hues the way they should be, the way I need. 5-24-2021 Prompt: Picture of “Time” Time and Space. Like a marathon runner tireless time moves on. Relentless, resilient, remorseless, linear, limbless, limitless. The space I need finally, is six feet, more or less. So why should I squabble losing peace over this and that. 5-25-2021 Prompt: Chewy kindred He found it chewy half the plant was chewed off. I heard the champ, ran out to shoo it away. That was an odd goat, ambled out of the herd. The shepherd just stared chewing on his blade of grass. 5-26-2021 Prompt: Wake me up Finding light Wake me up if I am lost in a dream. Bring me back to the world of realities Wake me up to a dark night dawning Keep waking me up till I find the light of wisdom. 5-27-2021 Prompt-Photo prompt of a water spout When the water spouts. Incredible like any other elemental formation "a whirling column of air and mist" fair weather water spout sometimes poses no threat. Like small-scale domestic skirmishes they rise when the chemistry goes awry and simmer down to dissipate. 5-28-2021 Prompt- Hardly-Top- Dread Exemplary The dreaded hand of fate has no place in his plans. Ever on top he considered what practically matters. Hardly lent an ear to gossip, praise or criticism. What else do you need to make life lively and joyful? 5-29-2021 Prompt: "And look upon myself and curse my fate," from Sonnet 29. Fate or Free will? If I stumbled and fell on the stairs it was not the fate, let's be fair. Nothing's predetermined as fatalists maintained. I have learnt not to fly high nor sink to ground and sigh. Instead let me find balance, become a person of substance. 5-30-2021 Prompt: "..Green Tree makes me deliciously glad" From "A Seed" by William Allingham Tree thoughts The green trees in the garden sedate and silent, not a burden. The whispering wind in the branches admires their smooth deliciousness. The mistress makes a point to talk to the garden folks on her daily walk Those trees teach you and me stay strong, whatever the weather be. 5-31-2021 Prompt: Devoid Connecting Devoid of concerns over mechanics of language, connecting with people living in different worlds speaking separate tongues belonging to unique cultures, is a matter of beauty and value, for humanity is one big family. |
