FUNNY FRIDAY
If you made any New Years resolutions and you've kept them... congratulations! You made it! One full week!
Now write a blog entry telling us all about your week. If you didn't make any New Years' resolutions then write about a time you did. It's FUNNY FRIDAY, so make me laugh and earn an MB.
Okay, so I don't make resolutions anymore. Why bother? As someone once stated, 'At my age, buying bananas is risky business'. Or avocados. You get them home and they are not ripe. You turn your back and they are rotten. I don't have time and really, who really knows when our last day is?
So looking up online at the top 10 resolutions:
TOP 10 NEW YEAR'S RESOLUTIONS FOR 2022
1 Lose weight
2 Eat healthier or change diet
3 Get fitter and take more exercise
4 Spend more time with family and friends
5 Be more aware and take care of mental health
6 Sort out finances and cut back spending
7 Travel more
8 Take up a new hobby, sport or other interest
9 Be more environmentally friendly
10 Look for a new job
So let's break these down.
1 Lose weight - I need some extra calories. It's been -6° or greater here for a few days. We're stuck in the house, on the computer a lot. It's been snowing so the roads are bad. We're sucking down propane to heat the house. We don't work since we're retired, so 24/7 it's the 2 of us.
2 Eat healthier - See #1
3 Get fitter - get more exercise - see #1
4. Spend more time with family and friends - see #1
5. Be more aware and take care of mental health - see #1
6. Sort out finances and cut back spending - see #1
7. Travel more - see #1
8. Take up a new hobby, sport or other interest - AHA - I'm doing a jigsaw puzzle. Does that count? I could get out the cross-country skis. But then that would cross-reference to #3.
9. Be more environmentally friendly - see #1
10. Look for a new job - see #1
So I guess if I was trying to keep any resolutions, I'd be doing a pitiful job. I'm just glad I'm about 1/3 done with a 1,000 piece crossword puzzle. Baby steps, folks.
