Supreme Court Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson... deal with it.
Supreme Court Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson... deal with it.

I feel an urge to explain some things to those White folks surrounded by all-White family who live in White neighborhoods and go to White-only churches...

You build walls around you. It's no surprise that you don't understand.

Shirley Chisholm (1924-2005) was the first black woman elected to Congress, the first to run for president. "Unbought and Unbossed" was her slogan. Chisholm said that she had faced much more discrimination during her New York legislative career because she was a woman than because of her race. Imagine that!

Enter Ketanji Brown Jackson.

From the LA Times: To the editor: Jackson made a grave tactical error by answering questions intelligently, patiently and with poise.

History has shown that to obtain Republican support for confirmation, a nominee must exclaim loudly and defiantly, "I like beer."

John Weinell, San Clemente

Ouch.

250 years of White Supremacy and some White folks can't tolerate a woman-of-color with poise.

And yes, this is what that sham of a hearing was all about. I can decipher the code. Anyone who is a minority picked up on it. It's not about the definition of 'woman'. It's about attacking a woman... or anyone who isn't White and male.
